KSI Services Inc., a local residential real estate development firm, and McWilliams|Ballard, a Washington, D.C.-based multifamily sales and marketing company, have created a partnership to form KMB Realty. The new company will be responsible for marketing and selling condominiums developed by KSI.
Claire Miller, KSI spokesperson, told MHN that McWilliams|Ballard expressed interest in the development company because it plans to build more than 20,000 units in the Washington, D.C. metro area over the next 10 years.
KMB Realty’s principals are Ross McWilliams and Chris Ballard, owners of McWilliams|Ballard, as well as Robert Kettler, founder and CEO of KSI. Kettler said KMB will allow KSI to improve its sales and marketing efforts.
In 2005, McWilliams|Ballard completed over 5,200 multifamily sales, totaling more than $2 billion. Since 2002, the company’s sales volume has doubled annually. McWilliams|Ballard is currently marketing projects in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Virginia.
The firm has marketed the JPI-developed Jenkins Row, a 247-unit condominium complex on Capital Hill; the Eclipse, a Comstock Homes Inc.-developed, mixed-use project with 465 condominium units in Alexandria, Va.; Ballston 880, a Federal Capital Partners-developed, condominium conversion project in Arlington, Va. with 123 units; and Henson Ridge, an affordable housing development in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, D.C. with 320 units.
