Reston Town Square Holds Grand Opening Celebration

KSI Services, Inc. (KSI), one of greater Washington, DC’s largest diversified real estate companies, dedicated Reston Town Square to Reston Urban Core Association (RUCA) and the residents of Reston at a ceremony today, followed by a public celebration featuring live entertainment and fireworks. Reston Town Square is a 1.25-acre park, designed by renowned landscape architect, Alan Ward of Sasaki & Associates.
“We are delighted with this very generous gift and accept it from KSI on behalf of all the businesses and residents of Reston Town Center,” stated RUCA president, Megan Crabtree. “KSI is a great neighbor and this park makes an excellent addition to the Town Center open space.”
“We are pleased to be turning over Reston Town Square to the Reston Urban Core Association,” said KSI president, Richard Hausler, representing KSI at the event. “Their interest in the Town Center and their commitment to the entire community has made them a great partner in all we are working to achieve here. We are fulfilling the evolving vision of Reston.” He added, “This great Town Center, which opened in 1990, is eager for high-rise residential living and retail, which is now going up around us. An important component of the master plan includes open space, represented by this beautiful park”.
Reston Town Square is part of KSI’s Midtown Reston Town Center. Phase one of the community, now under construction, includes two signature high-rise condominiums and a lofts-style building with a total of 371 units and 16,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Final build-out will include 1,000 condominiums and apartment homes and an additional 34,000 square feet of retail space.
Reston Town Square boasts a beautiful fountain and tiered seating for outdoor concerts, interspersed with landscaped seating areas. Situated on Market Street, it is the final formal public space envisioned for Reston Town Center.
