Jack Nicklaus Joins KSI to Celebrate the Midway Point of the Signature Golf Course
July 5, 2006
KSI Services, Inc. and golf legend, Jack Nicklaus announced the midway point in construction of the Harbor Station Harbor Station Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.
This championship golf course utilizes the rolling hills of the Cherry Hill Peninsula with strategically placed bunkers, water features and preserved nature valley. Elevation changes happen on nearly all of the 18 holes, and that helps to explain the generally open fairways.
"The goal of this course, and all that I have had a hand in designing, is to strike a balance between rewarding good golf while still keeping it simpler for people who aren't golf pros," Nicklaus said.
To date, Jack Nicklaus has 246 courses open for play worldwide and expects Harbor Station Golf Club to open in the fall of 2007.
Harbor Station is a mixed-use waterfront community on the Potomac River in eastern Prince William County. Along with residential property and a luxury hotel and conference center, other amenities will include a town center, schools, a Virginia Railway Express (VRE) station, proposed marina and 2 million square feet for office, retail and civic development.
