Kettler Sets Direction for the Next 30 Years

December 21, 2006

Kettler, formerly KSI Services, Inc., will be celebrating 30 years of growth and success in 2007, outlining the past and future direction for the company's next 30 years.

Kettler spent 2006 preparing for their next 30 years with strategic business decisions, key executive promotions and advancing the clear diversity of their home products.

A critical step in the next phase of the company was their name change from KSI Services Inc. to Kettler.  The name change allows Kettler to better connect with customers and the way they live their lives.

“While others are trying to adjust to the market, we are going to take the opportunity to move ahead by evolving our marketing identity and our brand,” said Robert C. Kettler, founder and chairman of Kettler.  “We are purposefully setting the stage to increase business flexibility and prosperity with this name change.”

In addition to the name change, Kettler will be relocating their headquarters to an 80,000 square-foot location in Pinnacle Towers at Tyson's Corner.  This move, to occur in the first quarter of 2007, will allow the company to consolidate personnel currently in several buildings in Vienna and Centreville.

In the coming year, Kettler will be delivering three important condominium projects to the marketplace, including:

The first phase of one of their most ambitious rental properties, Gramercy at Metropolitan Park, will also begin their marketing and leasing in summer 2007, with 399 homes.  The entire Metropolitan Park project, set on 16 acres in what was originally called "the warehouse" property in Crystal City will ultimately have eight phases and nearly 3,000 rental homes.

In 2006, Kettler made some significant strategic business decisions that set them apart in the industry.  They announced their new joint venture with McWilliams Ballard, KMB Realty; and a joint venture with Cypress Equities, an affiliate of Staubach Retail, to develop The Village at Leesburg.

Kettler has spent much of 2005 and 2006 building a strong executive team that encompasses financial, marketing and critical research skills.  Kettler’s team includes in-house experts on researching the right location for land purchase to executing final delivery of a product to the homeowner.

“There has been much public conversation about the state of the housing market over the last year,” added Kettler.  “We see it here as getting back to basics.  Kettler rode the wave well and now is confidently sailing on the calm seas of this market.”

The private real estate company, founded by Robert C. Kettler in 1977, has grown from a one-man operation to over 450 employees.  As one of Metropolitan Washington’s leading residential and commercial developer, Kettler is poised for continued growth.
