Kettler Announces Topping Off of Millennium at Metropolitan Park
$129 Million High-End Apartments on Schedule for Move-in Late this Year
May 12, 2009
Kettler, one of greater Washington D.C’s largest real estate development and property management companies, today announced the topping off of its $129 million high-rise luxury apartment building, The Millennium at Metropolitan Park.
On schedule for initial occupancy late this year, The Millennium is located on 2.57 prime acres in Pentagon City, Va. and will offer 300 apartments over 18-stories, a 350-vehicle controlled-access underground parking garage and nearly 8,000 square feet of retail space.
HOK, a Washington, D.C.-based architectural firm, designed The Millennium exterior and Dorskey Hodgson Parrish Yue is the architect of record. Forrest Perkins, an interior design firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., is leading the design of the building’s distinctive contemporary and sleek interiors.
“The Millennium’s dramatic two-story, see-through lobby is a key focal point of the building,” said John Chappelear, senior vice president, multifamily and condominium operations for Kettler.
“We took great care with The Millennium’s exterior architecture and interior design to ensure that it compliments The Gramercy, the adjacent high rise apartment building, while also giving The Millennium its own unique identity,” Chappelear added.
When completed, The Millennium will feature several green amenities including Energy Star appliances and light fixtures in every apartment, environmentally-friendly finish materials throughout the building and a spectacularly landscaped, 1.3 acre park which will serve as a green roof over the underground garage.
Other features of The Millennium include a swimming pool, large and well appointed party room, spa, business center, library and a fitness center outfitted with a variety of interactive cardio and strength training equipment as well as a climbing wall.
The Millennium is the second community in Metropolitan Park, an eight-phase master planned development that will offer over 3,200 multifamily units when completed in 10-15 years. The Gramercy, Metropolitan Park’s first community, opened in 2007 and is immediately adjacent to The Millennium. Metropolitan Park was planned by Robert A. M. Stern, a world renowned architect, and features a two-acre public park complete with commissioned artwork by local and national artists.
