A new 45,000 square foot full-service Harris Teeter grocery store will open on January 13, 2009 at The Lofts at Park Crest, an ultra-modern boutique apartment community including the finest features and amenities in the Washington, D.C. area.
The grand opening of the Tysons Corner Harris Teeter will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. will be followed by “A Taste of Teeter” from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., featuring free samples of a wide variety of top-quality products, plus discounts on case wine. The location is 8200 Crestwood Heights Drive, McLean, Virginia.
The store will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily and will offer a full-service pharmacy, in-store Starbucks and dining, full-service floral department, wine consultant, hot foods bar, salad and fresh fruit bars, and a variety of gourmet grocery selections.
During the Taste of Teeter, visitors will also be able to tour The Lofts at Park Crest, a residence that combines cutting-edge urban design with resort-style amenities and pedestrian-friendly convenience. Those who live at The Lofts can walk to the Tysons Galleria shopping mall, which includes such popular restaurants as Maggiano’s, Wildfire, Legal Seafoods, Lebanese Taverna, and Corner Bakery along with upscale anchors Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and many posh boutiques.
Adjacent to the Galleria is the 2.4 million SF Tysons Corner Center, the 11th largest shopping mall in the country, with Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale’s, a 16-screen AMC Multiplex movie theater, and numerous other shops, restaurants, and services. Just a few blocks away are major employers including Gannett/USA Today, Freddie Mac, BearingPoint, and others.
Residents of The Lofts at Park Crest also enjoy quick and easy access to major arteries including I-495, Route 66, and the Dulles Access Road, as well as the area’s major international airports, Reagan National and Washington Dulles International. There is convenient bus transportation to Metro, and construction has begun on Metro’s planned Silver Line to Tysons Corner and beyond. Park Crest represents the first wave of the planned transformation of Tysons Corner from a large office submarket to a 24/7 pedestrian-friendly city in its own right. Harris Teeter is the first new grocery store to
open in Tysons Corner in decades.
“We are extremely excited to open our newest location in Tyson’s Corner,” said Fred Morganthall, President of Harris Teeter. “We will strive every day to provide our new neighbors with a wide variety of top quality products and the best in customer service,” he added.
Park Crest, developed by affiliates of The Penrose Group and Donohoe Companies, is a new “city within the city” enclave of cosmopolitan high-rise and mid-rise residential towers. In addition to The Lofts at Park Crest, the community also includes a 19-story luxury condominium tower. Noted Mark Gregg, President of The Penrose Group: “We are thrilled to welcome the long-awaited Harris Teeter to Park Crest. We know this store will quickly become a destination shopping and gathering place for the entire community.”
The Lofts at Park Crest offer such unique features as floor-to-ceiling windows, 11-foot ceilings, EcoFinishes hardwood flooring, Wood-Mode cabinetry, KitchenAid appliances, Grohe fixtures, and Italian Lualdiporte glass doors. Patio, balcony, and oversized wraparound terraces are available.
